About the position

The Senior Creative Copywriter at Lawson Products is responsible for developing and executing compelling copy across various mediums to ensure a consistent and engaging brand voice. This role is integral to the Marketing department, focusing on creating persuasive content that drives business results while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position operates in a hybrid work model, allowing for both in-office and remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, persuasive, and clear copy for various channels, including digital and print media, email marketing, product descriptions, social media posts, and advertising campaigns.
  • Explain, discuss, and justify copy decisions eloquently, providing effective feedback and taking direction from team members.
  • Maintain and refine Lawson Products' brand voice, ensuring consistency across all communication platforms.
  • Develop high-quality, SEO-optimized content for websites, blogs, and other digital platforms, aligning with brand voice and messaging.
  • Collaborate with visual, experiential, and other brand team members to ensure copy concepts align with their work and brand identity.
  • Interact with Marketing team members and cross-functional groups to understand business objectives and audience needs.
  • Translate creative direction and copy points from briefs into engaging copy concepts.
  • Maintain high standards of copywriting and exercise quality control on all copy.
  • Ensure brand guidelines are implemented and consistent in all copy work.
  • Contribute to the definition and creation of content strategy, editorial calendar, and copy processes.
  • Participate in creative brainstorms for brand and product launches.
  • Demonstrate attention to detail, ensuring grammatical and factual accuracy, and compliance with business norms.
  • Provide concepting and copywriting support for various go-to-market initiatives, adapting copy skills for different brands and audience segments.
  • Approach complex challenges by distilling content into clear, concise messaging through creative solutions.
  • Use data to understand performance and improve copy across various mediums.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, English, Communications, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in B2B copywriting and content marketing, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Strong understanding of the creative process from ideation through implementation.
  • Experience using data to analyze and optimize performance of copy.
  • Understanding of copy best practices for print and digital mediums.
  • High level of accountability and ability to meet deadlines.
  • General understanding of SEO practices within effective, digital-first copy.
  • Strong research skills to stay informed about trends relevant to copy assignments.
  • Familiarity with brand strategy and working from briefs.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with high-quality standards.
  • Ability to influence, collaborate, and adapt within cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to distill goals into clean, compelling storytelling through copy.
  • Proficiency in juggling multiple projects while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to think outside the box and drive creative solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, process-oriented, organized, and focused on team productivity.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PPT), Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with Monday and PageProof.
  • Portfolio showcasing a variety of writing styles and content types.
  • Experience using analytics to make data-driven decisions for improvements in copy.
  • Proficient in project management tools and content management systems (CMS).
