About the position

The Creative Copywriter at DICK'S Sporting Goods plays a vital role in crafting effective messaging across various marketing and digital channels to inspire athletes. This position involves collaboration with designers, creative management, and internal clients to develop engaging content that aligns with the brand's vision. The role encompasses driving campaigns from conceptual strategy to rollout, ensuring all communications adhere to the approved creative brief.

Responsibilities

  • Develop engaging, best-in-class copy and tactical messaging across digital channels.
  • Support campaign concepts from development to rollout.
  • Assist Creative Managers and Copy Lead with the development of creative campaign themes, standards, and deliverables.
  • Champion the athlete in all thought processes, creative designs, and final products.
  • Compile, analyze, and apply competitive research and insights to improve writing effectiveness across channels.
  • Participate in testing strategies to optimize communications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends to elevate creative efforts.
  • Ensure consistent brand voice across channels by partnering with Senior Copywriters and Copy Lead.
  • Collaborate with the Design team in creative development.
  • Work with AI and machine learning specialists/vendors to integrate AI technology into the creative process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, or Journalism.
  • 3-5 years of experience with a minimum of 3 years in editorial experience in advertising/marketing.
  • Expert in spelling, grammar, and overall use of the English language.
  • Ability to write in various styles including advertising, marketing, business development, social media, and internal communications.
  • Experience in advertising, marketing, or creative agency is a plus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with contemporary social media avenues.
  • Golf expertise or understanding of golf lifestyle & culture is welcome.
