About the position

The Creative Director at Monster Energy is responsible for leading a dynamic team of creative professionals, including Art Directors, Graphic Designers, and Copywriters. This role involves overseeing the creative process, ensuring alignment with brand standards, and maintaining a cohesive visual identity across various projects. The Creative Director must excel in communication, project management, and collaboration with multiple stakeholders to deliver high-quality creative outputs under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the structure, processes, staffing, resources, and productivity of the Art Directors.
  • Ensure consistency of art direction and design quality by setting design expectations and managing templates.
  • Collaboratively establish brand books, logo usage guidelines, templates, design strategy, and creative vision for Monster Energy brands.
  • Organize, lead, and manage creative and production teams developing artwork for various marketing materials.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the internal Art Department supporting global brands.
  • Oversee the traffic manager to prioritize workflow and manage designer output for high productivity and quality.
  • Act as an in-house agency for various marketing departments, enforcing job requesting requirements and maintaining communication.
  • Develop and oversee the entire artwork development process from job submission to file delivery.
  • Recruit, train, and develop creative and production personnel to meet Art Department demands.
  • Source and manage freelance artists and designers for additional perspectives and peak workloads.
  • Attend regular meetings with marketing teams to facilitate communication.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience as an Art/Creative Director managing an Art Department in relevant industries.
  • Direct supervisory experience of creative and production teams with proven coaching abilities.
  • Highly creative design abilities for lifestyle brands.
  • Excellent organization and project management skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to inspire others.
  • Minimum of 2 years with the same firm managing an Art Department successfully.
  • Demonstrated success meeting tight deadlines with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative team player with decisiveness in enforcing brand standards.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, advertising, or marketing.
  • Knowledge of print shop operations and digital asset management.
  • Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Mac OS, and ftp sites.
