About the position

The Creative Director at Gap Inc. is a pivotal role focused on storytelling and creativity to enhance the corporate brand's perception. This leader will collaborate with executive leadership to elevate creative excellence, manage a diverse team, and develop impactful campaigns across various media. The position requires a strategic mindset, deep brand experience, and the ability to inspire and mentor creative talent while overseeing the production of brand-building campaigns and social media content.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the ideation process and visualizes campaign concepts through sketching, storyboarding, design, copywriting, wireframing, and/or prototyping.
  • Concept and oversee end-to-end creative development to ensure quality and style align to brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
  • Own end to end creative workflow, inclusive of process, tools and stakeholder engagement.
  • Inspire great design within your team, and ability to influence others to drive efficient decision-making.
  • Manage and prioritize creative resources (internal and freelance) to meet and balance competing needs from a variety of stakeholders in partnership with a Creative Producer reporting to this role.
  • Partner with Communication teams to ideate and merge creative needs with strategic insight.
  • Oversee the development of creative assets to be leveraged across paid and owned platforms, including website/careers page, Intranet, and social media campaign assets.
  • Oversee all video and photo concepting and production in partnership with the Creative Producer, supporting ongoing needs and large-scale shoots.
  • Design targeted on-brand employee experiences in partnership with Talent Management.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure delivery of on-time, high-quality deliverables that address all relevant project requirements.
  • Design with versatility and constantly seek new and innovative ways to elevate creativity.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in creative roles across physical and digital experience design.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, ideally with a minimum of 5+ years managing a studio team of diverse creative talent.
  • Impressive portfolio showing best-in-class solutions.
  • Ability to lead creative ideation and execution end-to-end.
  • Experience collecting and synthesizing input from stakeholders and translating it into creative solutions grounded in strategy.
  • Deep knowledge of emerging trends in creativity and ability to balance visionary thinking with business priorities.
  • Strong storytelling and presentation skills, with the ability to create compelling narratives from complex business topics.
  • Executive presence and experience interfacing with and influencing senior leaders.
  • People-first mentality, understanding corporate end users' needs.
  • Understanding of user/audience journey mapping and experience design across various interactions.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build relationships with a diverse range of people.
