About the position

The Creative Director at Discord will lead the creative vision for consumer marketing initiatives, focusing on innovative campaigns that engage gaming audiences. This role involves collaboration with various internal teams and external partners to enhance Discord's brand presence in the gaming industry, ensuring that campaigns resonate with the gaming community. The Creative Director will also mentor a team of creatives and oversee the execution of projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the creative strategy for Discord's consumer marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with overall brand objectives.
  • Conceptualize, develop, and execute large-scale creative campaigns that are visually stunning and engaging for the gaming community.
  • Collaborate with marketing, social, product, design, and other teams to ensure cohesive creative direction.
  • Build a deep understanding of Discord's gaming community to create relevant ideas and campaigns.
  • Shape and evolve Discord's brand presence within the gaming industry, ensuring consistency across various touchpoints.
  • Mentor and manage a team of multidisciplinary creatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
  • Collaborate with external partners, including creative agencies and influencers, to elevate Discord's presence in gaming.
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance metrics to iterate on creative strategies and maximize engagement.
  • Manage multiple projects from conception through completion, ensuring alignment with company priorities.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in a creative leadership role, with at least 2 years focused on the gaming industry.
  • Proven track record of leading successful creative campaigns from concept to execution.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing innovative work for technology brands, including branding and digital projects.
  • Deep understanding of gaming culture and industry trends.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Experience articulating a creative vision to senior-level stakeholders.
  • Experience working with in-house teams and external partners.
  • Proficiency with creative tools such as Adobe Creative Suite and Figma.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to transform complex ideas into engaging strategies.
