About the position

Being a Creative Director (CD) at BarkleyOKRP is a significant role that comes with high expectations and responsibilities. As part of a small group of leaders, the CD is instrumental in shaping the agency's output and future potential. They are expected to lead superior work, guide their teams and clients, and contribute positively to the agency's culture and philosophy. The Creative Director must possess a vision that is fresh, distinctive, and culturally relevant. This position is not just about leadership; it is about being a passionate and driven creative leader who aspires to build a proud and effective creative department. The CD is a mentor, a strategic thinker, and an engaging presenter who collaborates openly while providing strong perspectives on projects. This role involves leading, creating, and fostering growth within the team. The CD will work closely with strategy directors and brand leaders, challenging and supporting their team to achieve excellence. In this role, the Creative Director will inspire and lead a creative team to produce outstanding work, provide constructive feedback, and maintain a strong knowledge of the latest digital and social trends. Building relationships with other departments, teams, and clients is crucial, as is being a reliable point of contact for client teams. The CD will ensure that client communication plans and campaign objectives are met, that creative work aligns with strategic goals, and that projects are delivered on time and within budget. The role also involves maintaining positive morale among account management teams and ensuring high client satisfaction ratings. Ultimately, the Creative Director is responsible for making wise decisions, representing teamwork in award shows, and leading the agency towards creative excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire and lead a creative team to make great work
  • Provide feedback and direction to creative teams
  • Know and continue to pursue the latest knowledge of digital and social platforms
  • Build day-to-day relationships with other departments, teams, and clients
  • Be a go-to for your client team(s) and represent the FUEL department
  • Ensure client communication plan and campaign objectives are met
  • Deliver outstanding and on-strategy creative work
  • Maintain positive account management morale related to the creative relationship
  • Express confidence in leadership abilities to client and agency management
  • Make wise and responsible decisions
  • Represent teamwork in national and/or international award shows
  • Achieve high client satisfaction ratings

Requirements

  • Be based out of our Kansas City, MO office or willing to relocate with a relocation financial assistance package
  • Excellent portfolio showing mastery of social media and digital
  • A drive to create work that breaks through the clutter and is highly effective
  • Passion for working with creative teams and fostering collaboration
  • Ability to mentor junior team members
