About the position

The Creative Director, Global Brand Management at Pearson will lead the rollout of a refreshed brand identity, working closely with agency partners and internal teams to ensure consistency and effectiveness across all brand communications. This role involves overseeing the development of brand assets, managing creative operations, and fostering understanding and excitement about the brand both internally and externally. The position requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in brand design and marketing, capable of navigating complex organizational dynamics and driving brand equity.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the new core brand identity system in partnership with the Brand Manager and agency team.
  • Lead the internal team to build out brand assets such as pictograms and iconography.
  • Oversee the build-out of a photography library and manage custom shoots.
  • Identify and recommend font options for the brand.
  • Complete brand guidelines for the new identity system in collaboration with the Brand Manager and agency.
  • Ensure technical reviews for the new system with other departments.
  • Work with the accessibility team to meet all requirements for the new system.
  • Consult with UX/UI teams to ensure proper translation into UX design.
  • Socialize the new identity system through training programs for marketing employees and external agency teams.
  • Monitor the progress of the new identity rollout and report to senior leadership.
  • Engage proactively with divisions on key strategic initiatives related to branding.
  • Oversee a team of designers and copywriters, including hiring and onboarding new team members.

Requirements

  • 10-15 years of experience in brand/marketing creative design and leadership.
  • Proven experience in building, executing, and managing a new brand identity system.
  • Experience in technology organizations or brand/marketing agencies.
  • Strong creative thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage agency relationships effectively.
  • Advanced communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and marketing best practices.
  • Ability to adapt style and approach to diverse stakeholder interactions.
  • Demonstrated record of driving change and influencing organizations.
