About the position

Atlantic Union Bank (AUB) is seeking a leader with a proven track record of managing and delivering powerful creative for big brands. This is an exciting opportunity to evolve and manage the AUB brand. The Creative Director will lead a multi-person team made up of themselves, designers, copywriters, and a videographer/photographer. A true creative problem solver, this person will be responsible for delivering the evolution of our brand as well as day-to-day game-changing marketing and customer experiences. This position will bring the unique skillsets of a great strategic thinker as well as deep creative skills that enable impactful business results. The Creative Director will partner with strategists, external agencies, and internal business clients to understand consumer and business/commercial needs and translate that into a world-class creative execution. They will lead and inspire a creative team to develop winning creative across multiple channels including print, digital, direct mail, and more. This role will champion AUB's brand guidelines, enforcing them across the organization and embedding them in customer experiences throughout the bank. Additionally, the Creative Director will build and manage a proprietary library of photography and videography for use in marketing and throughout our customer experience. This position requires the ability to create, mentor, and lead teams while effectively navigating complex client organizations and processes. The Creative Director will define and model the team culture, ensuring it aligns with the company's values (Caring, Courageous, Committed); enabling an environment where the team can take pride in its work, take safe risks, and grow. They will manage the team and budget, make hiring decisions, and provide development and training recommendations. Presenting with a convincing and inspiring style that increases buy-in and opens the door to new opportunities is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the Creative Director will build a library of content for publishing across the bank's website, social media platforms, and lead development and nurture campaigns.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Prefer 8 years' experience in creative direction, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, business administration, communications, or related field preferred.
  • Financial Services industry experience highly preferred.
  • Experience leading cross-departmental teams in brand standards and brand architecture development.
  • Experience leading teams in traditional, digital, and emerging social/content marketing channels.
  • Experienced in animated video development and production.
  • Content development and management.
  • Retail/Branch merchandising background.
  • Strong creative vision paired with the ability to evolve a brand in a way that will ultimately be irresistible to the consumer.
  • Ability to partner effectively with cross-functional teams, work autonomously and navigate ambiguity.
  • Persuasive communication skills, both orally and in writing.
  • Talent for building strong relationships with high-leverage internal and external networks.
