About the position

The Creative Director, Social at Gap will lead the brand's voice and creative storytelling across all social channels. This role involves developing seasonal brand stories and innovative content to engage customers and enhance the brand's vision. The position requires collaboration with various teams to ensure the creative output aligns with business objectives and stands out in the competitive landscape.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Head of Creative to push the creative vision of all brand campaigns and deliverables.
  • Oversee and direct a team of senior and mid-level designers on the brand team.
  • Drive and iterate on the brand visual identity including graphic direction and photography/video style for multi-channel campaigns.
  • Think big and act as a conceptual thought-leader in collaboration with editorial and marketing teams.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional and agency partners to concept larger 360 brand and social campaigns.
  • Oversee the Brand/Value systems teams that manage evergreen programs.
  • Lead photo shoots for brand projects in partnership with the Head of Creative.
  • Ensure creative output is synergistic between product and creative visuals teams.

Requirements

  • 10+ years experience in brand creative and social direction, with both agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • A compelling portfolio showcasing distinctive work that elevates a brand's creative and social experience.
  • Ability to operate at an executive level, mentoring and managing team members.
  • Extensive knowledge of channel best practices, balancing creative work with business goals.
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Brand, Creative, Editorial, and Marketing teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, able to articulate rationale and evoke excitement.

  • Experience with Miro is a plus.
