About the position

As the Creative Director for UX/UI Design, you will set the strategic direction and vision for Digital Experience and Design at our company. This role requires a dynamic leader who can inspire and energize a team while effectively communicating the importance of storytelling in design. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders across various departments, including digital, product, engineering, marketing, and channels, to drive product strategy and develop product roadmaps that create remarkable digital experiences for our users. In this position, you will build and lead a multi-disciplinary in-house studio composed of designers, experience strategists, interface designers, and researchers. Your goal will be to transform financial services through creativity, rigor, and data-driven insights. You will spearhead a research and discovery program that identifies unmet user needs, providing the necessary insights, analytics, and user testing to validate the direction of our design strategy. Your ability to turn research insights into tangible solutions will be crucial in this role. You will also be responsible for managing budgets and planning for digital research, discovery, UX, and design initiatives. Mentoring a talented design community will be a key aspect of your role, ensuring that the team remains productive and inspired. You will own the end-to-end UX design process, delivering high-quality outputs from vision and strategy to final delivery, including journey maps, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and development-ready assets. As a champion for design thinking, you will develop and implement tools and frameworks that promote organizational transformation and elevate the standards of UX/UI design knowledge and application. Advocating for the user, you will drive the use of behavioral analytics, customer feedback, and usability testing in all product and engineering decisions. Additionally, you will establish and maintain design guidelines and interaction standards through a comprehensive Digital Design System, ensuring consistency and accessibility across all platforms and devices. Your leadership will operationalize methodologies and frameworks that empower the UX and Design community to conduct the right activities at the right time, providing them with the necessary tools, processes, best practices, and training to excel in their roles.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Design, Anthropology, Psychology, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in human-centered design with 5+ years as a hands-on UX practitioner.
  • 5+ years of experience building and leading large, distributed cross-disciplinary UX design teams.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing a breadth of experience across various industries and customer types.
  • Ability to synthesize complex and competing needs.
  • Experience working in an agile environment.
  • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results through collaboration within a complex ecosystem.
  • Experience with both agency and client-side preferred.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills.
