About the position

The Creative Director/Writer at GSD&M is responsible for leading and managing creative campaigns across various platforms, including TV, print, digital, and social media. This role requires a deep understanding of both the client's business and the creative process to develop and execute innovative ideas that resonate with audiences. The position emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and the ability to inspire a team of creatives while ensuring high-quality output that meets client goals and creative standards.

Responsibilities

  • Understand both the details and the big picture of a client's business to help develop and execute a vision for the creative work.
  • Lead and manage campaigns across all platforms (TV, print, digital, social, etc.) from concepting to production.
  • Inspire and lead your team of creatives, helping them grow their skills and improve the work at every step.
  • Sell clients award-worthy work that meets both their goals and our creative standards.
  • Ensure that everything produced is of the highest quality.
  • Identify opportunities to create exceptional work that clients may not realize they need.
  • Engage in concept development and create work as needed.
  • Set an example for collaboration, leadership, and creative excellence.
  • Help teams turn feedback into improved work.
  • Manage and prioritize team projects and deadlines to ensure nothing is overlooked.
  • Own and grow client relationships, including with executives.

Requirements

  • Must have pharmaceutical copy experience, with proficiency in messaging to patients.
  • Deep understanding of the MLR process as the candidate will help establish a healthcare practice within the agency.
  • 8+ years of advertising experience with a strong portfolio of produced work, including integrated campaigns.
  • Exceptional command of craft (art direction or copywriting).
  • Strong presentation skills and experience in selling ideas to clients.
  • Ability to think on your feet and provide solutions to client feedback.
  • Strong supervisory experience within a creative department.
  • Ability to lead new business pitches.
  • Responsible and humble leadership skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and dependable work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Passion for advertising and staying updated on industry trends.
