About the position

The Creative Director at Meris is a senior-level role responsible for leading the creative process for client marketing deliverables. This position focuses on developing creative strategies and visual expressions that align with business objectives, while overseeing an in-house creative team and managing external contractors. The Creative Director is expected to be a compelling visual storyteller and an expert communicator, ensuring the delivery of industry-leading creative work that supports the company's and clients' goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of creative strategy and visual expression for all projects.
  • Create original concepts, designs, and copy that engage audiences and meet business objectives.
  • Determine the effectiveness of creative work and make adjustments for future projects.
  • Manage the flow of creative work and activities between departments.
  • Monitor creative work through all phases of planning, production, and postproduction.
  • Lead and inspire the development of creative staff including art directors, graphic designers, and videographers.
  • Hire, develop, train, and manage a staff of creative peers.
  • Promote the overall capabilities of the creative department and share best practices.
  • Manage multiple assignments and team members while adhering to client budgets and time constraints.
  • Review monthly activities with management to meet business objectives.

Requirements

  • BA in Visual Communications, Design or related degree
  • 20 years experience in a creative agency role with progressive leadership responsibility
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite
  • Advanced understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and design best practices
  • Strong character and design proficiency in various capacities
  • Strong understanding of general business operations and marketing is a plus.
