About the position

Gunner is seeking a Creative Director to join our headquarters in Stamford, CT. As a premier home improvement company recognized as one of Fast Company’s most innovative companies of 2024, we are committed to delivering an exceptional customer experience. The Creative Director will play a pivotal role in overseeing the end-to-end creative process, ensuring that our visual identity and brand voice are consistently enhanced and differentiated across all customer touchpoints. This position requires a dynamic individual who can lead the creative team with innovative ideas while also being hands-on in execution. In this role, you will be responsible for the creative direction of all brand assets, marketing materials, and online content. You will develop and articulate a clear creative vision that aligns with Gunner's brand and business objectives. Your leadership will inspire the creative team to produce best-in-class content and engage customers across various channels. You will also be a key voice in enhancing the Gunner brand through art direction, graphic and digital design, video, social design, UI, and UX. Staying up to date on industry trends and having experience with social channels such as Instagram and TikTok, as well as emerging creative technologies, will be essential. You will need to gain buy-in from leadership and effectively communicate our creative vision to engage and align internal teams.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the creative direction of all brand assets, marketing materials, and online content from conception to delivery.
  • Develop and articulate a clear creative vision that aligns with the Gunner brand and business objectives.
  • Bring new ideas and develop a strong creative vision that enhances the brand and evolves with customers and the company.
  • Lead and inspire the creative team to deliver best-in-class content and customer engagement across channels.
  • Enhance the Gunner brand through art direction, graphic and digital design, video, social design, UI, and UX.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging creative technologies.
  • Gain buy-in from leadership and communicate the creative vision effectively to internal teams.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience in design, creative direction, and brand strategy.
  • 4+ years of experience leading digitally focused creative teams through strategy and execution.
  • Portfolio demonstrating diverse creative work and ability to execute across channels.
  • Ability and affinity for a combination of hands-on work and creative team leadership.
  • Ability to lead a production team and manage and deliver to budgets and timelines.
  • Understanding of digital content production and video, including familiarity with post-production retouching and editing.
  • Deep experience designing for mobile & web with knowledge of UX and front-end web design processes and best practices.
  • Experience managing and developing a high-performing creative team.
  • Ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Commercially minded, open to input from all internal stakeholders, and able to incorporate feedback into creative deliverables.
  • Passion for home improvement, construction, and technology.
