About the position

The Creative Director at USC Upstate is responsible for enhancing the university's brand through innovative and aspirational creative executions. This role involves ideating, designing, and producing various digital and print materials to build brand awareness and celebrate the university's stories. The Creative Director collaborates with multiple stakeholders, including academic departments and alumni, to ensure that the university's branding is effectively communicated across all platforms.

Responsibilities

• Create comprehensive, original graphic design and layout concepts for marketing needs, including digital and advertising, publications, and promotional collateral.
• Collaborate with campus departmental partners to determine needs and deadlines, and develop and produce promotional materials for digital use.
• Act as brand steward and leading visual identity expert with campus stakeholders and leadership.
• Supervise a graphic designer and a multimedia content producer, collaborating with freelancers as needed.
• Oversee production of marketing materials, including gathering bids from vendors for promotional items.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Master's degree and 3 years of professional experience related to the development and dissemination of informational material, or Bachelor's degree and 5 years related experience.
• Experience in graphic design is required.
• Proven track record of creative, inspiring work in digital and print mediums.
• Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a high-demand environment.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of Associated Press style.
• Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities.
• Proficient knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office suite.
• Understanding of marketing in electronic and online media.
