About the position

The Creative Director at Trupanion will co-lead the creative team to enhance brand awareness and communicate the value of pet insurance to pet owners. This role involves overseeing the creative process from strategy to execution, managing a team of designers and content writers, and collaborating with marketing partners to deliver impactful campaigns. The position is hybrid, requiring in-office work at least three days a week in a casual, pet-friendly environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Designers, Videographers, & Content Writers and collaborate with internal teams and agencies.
  • Inspire the team to be bold and innovative in storytelling and creative conversations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with marketing partners to develop creative brand strategies and campaigns.
  • Provide brand feedback for creative projects, ensuring high-quality production through analysis and industry insight.
  • Oversee brand design and editorial guidelines for consistency across all assets.
  • Set objectives for the creative team to measure and demonstrate performance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure a holistic brand editorial and campaign calendar is delivered proactively.
  • Anticipate, source, and assign resources for projects, considering team bandwidth and career growth.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in design or creative manager roles, ideally leading a mix of internal & external resources.
  • 4+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Strong portfolio of delivered brand identities and campaigns.
  • Prior experience working with international brands and billion-dollar revenue companies.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
  • Extensive hands-on experience using standard design tools for print, digital, video & animated creative, as well as project management tools such as Asana.
  • Experience organizing and managing teams through the end-to-end creative process.
  • Experience managing brand design production across B2B & B2C audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the veterinary and/or pet care space is a plus.
