About the position

As the Creative Director at Thompson Thrift, you will lead the vision and strategy for all creative initiatives, ensuring the brand effectively communicates across various platforms. This role involves overseeing the design and visual styles for all collateral materials and branded merchandise, while collaborating with senior leadership and managing a creative team to uphold brand standards and drive innovative design solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop creative strategies for Thompson Thrift and its business units.
  • Oversee the development, maintenance, and evolution of brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all internal and external communications.
  • Manage branded purchasing centralization initiatives to guarantee volume pricing, high-quality materials, and reliable customer support.
  • Support corporate service design initiatives across various departments to ensure both internal and external communications are visually aligned with the brand.
  • Communicate with clients to define artistic approaches and project styles that meet their needs.
  • Coordinate with production and account services to create and manage project budgets and timelines.
  • Lead visual storytelling efforts through mock-ups, storyboards, and creative page layouts that resonate with our brand vision.
  • Collaborate with graphic designers on the selection of photos, art, and other visual elements for support materials.
  • Ensure adherence to brand standards in all design aspects, including templates, logos, color palettes, and typestyles.
  • Oversee the organization and maintenance of all digital files, photos, and creative resources on the marketing drive.
  • Lead and approve design projects before distribution to internal and external clients, ensuring that the highest design standards are met.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, visual communications, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of professional experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing innovation and excellence.
  • Proven experience managing a collaborative team environment, with a willingness to accept constructive criticism to meet client needs while preserving design integrity.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet tight deadlines, and work well under pressure.
  • High level of creativity, detail-oriented approach, and exceptional communication skills.
  • Expertise in Adobe Design Suite and Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with storyboarding and managing video production processes.
