About the position

The Creative Director at VML will lead a dynamic creative team in Seattle, focusing on delivering innovative and award-worthy campaigns for a major technology client. This leadership role requires a blend of creative vision, strategic thinking, and the ability to mentor and inspire a team while maintaining high standards of creative excellence. The position emphasizes collaboration, cultural awareness, and the ability to navigate the evolving landscape of digital marketing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct multiple dedicated creative teams on social workstreams.
  • Conceptualize campaign ideas and big concepts for large-scale paid opportunities throughout the year.
  • Identify and pursue proactive creative opportunities for the core business and other major clients.
  • Build and lead a team of creative innovators, shaping team culture and chemistry.
  • Oversee art directors, writers, and social creators, acting as a mentor to cultivate team growth.
  • Lead presentations and influence outcomes, shaping social creative processes.
  • Anticipate team and client needs, project risks, and participate in driving resolutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of creative experience; senior creative management experience preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of the strategic and creative process, including conceptual and executional phases.
  • Experience giving effective creative direction that leads to great work.
  • Ability to manage medium and large scale productions and lead scrappy teams creating social content.
  • Portfolio featuring a wide range of award-worthy creative work.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and collaborate in a team-oriented workplace.
  • Award-winning conceptual skills for navigating the digital space and executing advertising campaigns across diverse platforms.
  • Strong ability to prioritize work and resources based on short- and long-term needs.
