About the position

Callahan Creek, Inc. is seeking a Creative Director to lead creative and content development solutions for the Toyota Creative Agency and Print Solutions (CAPS) team. This role is pivotal in ensuring that the creative vision aligns with and exceeds the expectations of clients, particularly within Toyota Motor North America (TMNA). The Creative Director will be involved throughout the design, development, and implementation processes, ensuring that all creative outputs maintain the highest standards of quality and brand compliance. The Creative Director will work closely with team members to assist in strategic and creative content creation, guiding projects from conception through to production. This includes hands-on involvement in concepting and design work, as well as collaborating with the legal department to ensure all projects adhere to brand compliance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong ability to articulate and defend creative choices, both internally and in client presentations, while also fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the creative team. In this role, the Creative Director will be responsible for developing campaign concepts and marketing communications that fulfill strategic business objectives. They will lead the creative team, motivating and inspiring them to produce innovative ideas and high-quality executions. The Creative Director will also maintain close working relationships with account teams, clients, and freelance resources to optimize creative output and ensure timely delivery of projects. This position requires a strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing principles, as well as the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conceive and create campaign concepts and marketing communications/design solutions that fulfill strategic business objectives.
  • Present creative work to internal teams and clients, ensuring mutual agreement on project direction.
  • Review creative products from the end user's perspective and lead staff to think like the customer.
  • Develop and deliver thought leadership and creative solutions that strengthen clients' market distinction and leadership position.
  • Assist TMNA/CAPS leadership team in the growth of creative/digital/video/traditional and electronic projects.
  • Lead, motivate, and inspire the creative team to develop strategic, innovative ideas and well-crafted creative executions.
  • Maintain close working relationships with account teams, clients, and freelance resources to optimize creative output.
  • Assist account team in the development of project budgets and schedules, ensuring high-quality products are submitted on time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's of fine art degree or equivalent.
  • 8+ years of advertising experience in an agency setting or internal creative department.
  • 5+ years of management experience.
  • 3+ years experience in a creative leadership role.
  • Experience working on large cross-channel projects in a variety of media.
  • Strong knowledge of traditional marketing/advertising, as well as overall digital principles.
  • Proficient in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Keynote.
  • Excellent presentation skills and communication abilities at all levels of both internal and client organizations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with all types of digital development including web, online ads, email, and mobile apps.
  • Simple HTML coding skills and knowledge of e-commerce, relevant Google and Microsoft products.
