About the position

The Creative Director at Creative Plastics will play a pivotal role in the design process, contributing to the creation of innovative merchandising solutions for various retail formats. This position requires a highly motivated individual who can manage multiple projects from concept to final approval, ensuring that designs meet client needs while adhering to tight deadlines in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Creates merchandising solutions for both retailers and brand marketers.
  • Works projects from initial concept to final renderings, as well as updates existing displays.
  • Assesses information provided by the customer and translates it into creative design solutions.
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting ideas to the team for critique and approval.
  • Designs and produces visual communication in various formats and materials.
  • Oversees the design of finished product packaging, emphasizing marketability and cost efficiency.
  • Researches and introduces prototypes using materials such as plastics and acrylics.
  • Presents designs to clients for approval.
  • Collaborates with staff from marketing, manufacturing, graphics, and shipping departments.
  • Works closely with new clients and sales team to ensure project vision implementation.
  • Demonstrates the ability to take projects from conception to production.
  • Produces engaging design solutions for a wide range of clients.
  • Develops original high-level visual design concepts for multiple projects.
  • Documents all individual activities and provides periodic reporting as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial design, fine arts, architecture, or interior design or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Mastery of graphic design software and photo editing software.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Experience with 3D Studio Max, Adobe Creative Suite, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated skills in ideation, sketching, and photo-realistic renderings.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in consumer electronics, beauty, home improvement, or temporary displays.
  • Basic understanding of fabrication methods, including sheet metal, tubing, wood, and plastics.
