About the position

The Creative Director at Nutanix is a pivotal role responsible for shaping and maintaining the visual brand and voice of the company. This position is not just about aesthetics; it embodies the heart and soul of Nutanix's identity. As an experienced creative leader, you will be deeply involved in the craft and application of your skills, ensuring that the brand resonates across various touchpoints and is tailored for specific audiences. Your role will be to act as the guardian of the Nutanix brand, overseeing how it is represented physically, digitally, and virtually, while driving brand distinction and business impact. In this capacity, you will focus on storytelling and innovation, aligning brand and business priorities. You will lead a talented team of art directors, designers, and video producers, collaborating closely with other marketers, writers, and strategists both within Nutanix and with external agencies. Your ability to present ideas to leadership and marketing partners, while welcoming constructive feedback, will be crucial. You will lead by example, guiding your team through the creative process and fostering a culture of communication, collaboration, and growth. This role is integral to the Global Integrated Marketing & Communications team, reporting directly to the Head of Corporate Marketing. Responsibilities

  • Drive a globally consistent flexible fit-for-purpose visual brand and content creation strategy, including messaging and content architectures.
  • Align the Nutanix Visual Brand and Content Strategy across operating regions.
  • Partner with Digital Marketing and Marketing Campaign teams to deliver an online marketing strategy that attracts, converts, and retains customers.
  • Develop strong relationships as a trusted creative partner within creative and across other cross-functional departments.
  • Execute the production of creative/editorial concepts for all visual communication mediums including print, video, events, online marketing, website, social media, and blog.
  • Ensure global consistency by developing and implementing consistent marketing processes and systems globally.
  • Manage external agencies and relationships with marketing services to achieve global outcomes efficiently and effectively.
  • Lead and develop a team of creatives, helping them reach their potential.
  • Manage a budget and track expenses systematically.
  • Maintain and grow the brand portal.
  • Motivate employees globally around a shared visual brand vision.
  • Shape a collaborative, innovative, transparent, and entrepreneurial culture with peers and key stakeholders.
  • Stay updated on new creative and digital technologies and trends.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in brand, visual identity, creative services, or advertising.
  • Strong creative portfolio showcasing previous work.
  • Experience in B2B technology or SaaS, particularly with complex, multi-product IT portfolios; agency management experience is a plus.
  • Successful experience in visual brand management and content creation in a direct people management role.
  • Outstanding visual background in typography, composition, motion, branding, and user-centered design principles.
  • Experience collaborating with and influencing executive management.
  • Data-driven approach to achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Ability to negotiate and influence opinions and decision-making at the senior executive level.
  • Highly creative with the ability to ground ideas into practical solutions.
  • Strong project management skills, including maintaining a work schedule and prioritizing projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Deep understanding of Figma, Keynote, and Adobe Creative Cloud.

  • Experience with digital marketing strategies and tools.
  • Familiarity with user experience (UX) design principles.
