About the position

The Creative Director will lead the creative marketing strategies for the Reno Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. This role involves collaborating with agency partners and staff to create compelling campaigns that enhance the visitor experience and foster a strong emotional connection with the brand. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of creative strategy expertise, leadership skills, and a passion for the Reno Tahoe area.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a cohesive brand and creative strategy that reflects the values of the destination and organization.
  • Manage creative development and execution across various marketing channels, including advertising, digital, print, and social media.
  • Collaborate with venue marketing and management teams to direct creative strategies that elevate each venue's brand.
  • Identify trends and insights through data analysis to inform creative strategies.
  • Manage the creative budget effectively, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within financial parameters.
  • Work closely with internal departments, agencies, and community partners to leverage creative direction.
  • Monitor and evaluate campaign performance using data-driven insights to refine strategies.
  • Direct the development of branded templates for the organization.
  • Determine website testing to create an optimal site experience.
  • Provide direction to the team throughout the creative process and evaluate the effectiveness of the work post-activation.
  • Work with executives to set project deadlines and content goals.
  • Present project information, including deadlines and budgets, to executives and clients.
  • Maintain a competent and motivated workforce by hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Assist the Vice President of Marketing in developing and administering the creative budget.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop impactful sales assets.
  • Prepare and deliver performance reports and presentations to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Advertising, Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • At least five years of creative strategy experience, including writing, vetting imagery, and managing feedback processes.
  • At least five years of marketing experience and 2+ years of management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and computer literacy in software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Adobe.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Familiarity with all advertising mediums and integrated marketing strategies.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in crafting quality work in advertising, social media, conceptual campaigns, product launches, and branding.
  • Familiarity with various organizational functions and personnel practices.
