About the position

The Creative Director at Robb Report will oversee the visual identity and creative direction of various editorial properties, including the monthly magazine, web content, video, social media, and event branding. This senior leadership role demands a seasoned manager with expertise in both digital and print storytelling, strong design skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment. The Creative Director will be responsible for executing original design concepts and award-winning photography and videography, while managing a team and budget.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the look and feel of multiple editorial properties including magazine, web, video, and social media.
  • Collaborate closely with the editor in chief, deputy editor, digital director, and category editors.
  • Lead and develop the art department, including art director, photo director, and designer.
  • Manage budget and allocate spending for freelance, illustrations, and photography.
  • Produce and direct photoshoots, ensuring high-quality visual content.
  • Articulate editorial concepts and ideas effectively to the team and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of graphic design experience at a publishing, agency, or media company.
  • Excellent communication skills for articulating editorial concepts and ideas.
  • Demonstrable expertise in print and digital design with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for typography, design, illustration, and photography.
  • Detailed knowledge of pre-press requirements for print, including manufacturing process, proofing, and color correction.
  • Experience producing and directing photoshoots.
  • Ability to lead, nurture, and develop the art department team.
  • Strong network of industry connections with illustrators, designers, and photographers.
  • Deep interest in luxury brands, experiences, trends, and business.
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
