About the position

The Creative Director at Gallo is responsible for driving multi-channel creative output for a dedicated book of business, ensuring brand consistency across various platforms. This role involves managing a team of creative contributors, collaborating with business stakeholders, and developing compelling brand experiences to stimulate consumer engagement and support marketing goals. The position requires strong creative direction, business acumen, and effective resource management to shape Gallo brands and maintain a competitive edge in the market.

Responsibilities

  • Drive multi-channel creative output ensuring brand consistency across commerce, retail, and digital.
  • Inspire, nurture, and manage a team of creative contributors including copywriters, designers, and content creators.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to develop compelling brand experiences that support marketing goals.
  • Lead creative strategy discussions and develop strategic communication plans for campaigns.
  • Oversee content creation for social media, photo, and video to ensure high-quality outputs.
  • Maintain adherence to brand identity guidelines and ensure quality assurance of creative work.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal marketing clients and stakeholders to refine strategies and concepts.
  • Manage internal and external creative talent to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Provide coaching and skillset development for direct reports, preparing and delivering formal reviews.
  • Cultivate a culture of innovation and continuous learning within the creative team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in graphic design, fine arts, advertising, communications, or journalism plus 9 years of relevant experience; OR high school diploma plus 13 years of experience.
  • Original portfolio showcasing a range of commercial work across various industries.
  • Strong copy and design aesthetic with 3 years of experience leading multi-functional creative teams.
  • Experience with consumer brand strategy and marketing principles across all media forms.
  • Expertise in developing creative strategies and leading teams to produce exceptional solutions.
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior clients.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree plus 8 years of experience in relevant fields; OR Bachelor's degree plus 11 years of experience.
  • Five years of experience leading multi-functional creative teams.
  • Experience in the alcohol beverage industry.
  • External agency experience driving creative strategies for global brands.
