About the position

The Creative Director at Trupanion will co-lead the Brand & Content Marketing team, focusing on innovative strategies to enhance brand awareness for Trupanion's mission of providing pet insurance. This role encompasses all phases of the creative process, from strategy development to execution, and involves collaboration with various marketing partners to create impactful campaigns for diverse audiences. The position requires a blend of leadership, creativity, and strategic insight to drive the brand's evolution and ensure high-quality production across all creative assets.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Designers, Videographers, & Content Writers and collaborate with internal teams and agencies.
  • Inspire the team to be bold and innovative in storytelling and creative conversations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with marketing partners to develop effective brand strategies and campaigns.
  • Act as a thought leader in shaping the creative direction of the brand and ensuring executional excellence.
  • Provide feedback on creative projects using analysis and industry insights to maintain high production quality.
  • Oversee brand design and editorial guidelines to ensure consistency across all assets.
  • Set objectives for the creative team to measure and demonstrate performance to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to maintain a holistic brand editorial and campaign calendar.
  • Anticipate and manage resources for projects, considering team capabilities and career growth.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in design or creative manager roles, ideally leading a mix of internal & external resources.
  • 4+ years of experience as a people manager.
  • Strong portfolio of delivered brand identities and campaigns.
  • Prior experience working with international brands and billion-dollar revenue companies.
  • Strong understanding of consumer behavior and market trends.
  • Extensive hands-on experience using standard design tools for print, digital, video & animated creative as well as project management tools such as Asana.
  • Experience organizing and managing teams through the end-to-end creative process.
  • Experience managing brand design production across B2B & B2C audiences.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the veterinary and/or pet care space is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple requests effectively.
