About the position

As the Creative Director at Oxide Games, you will be the visionary leader responsible for defining and guiding the creative direction of AAA strategy games. This role involves collaborating closely with designers, artists, writers, and engineers to create innovative and immersive gameplay experiences. You will shape the artistic, narrative, and design elements of the games, ensuring a cohesive experience for players while fostering a culture of creativity and collaboration within the team.

Responsibilities

• Define and articulate the creative vision for AAA strategy games, ensuring cohesion across design, art, and narrative elements.
• Guide and support the design team in developing innovative game mechanics, systems, and features.
• Oversee the development of the game's story, characters, and world to enhance the gameplay experience.
• Work with the art team to establish a visual style that supports the creative vision and is inclusive of diverse player perspectives.
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and marketing teams to implement and communicate the creative vision throughout development.
• Drive innovation in game design and storytelling, ensuring high-quality creative aspects from concept to execution.
• Inspire, mentor, and support a multidisciplinary team, fostering an environment where all contributions are valued.
• Ensure game design and creative elements deliver a memorable and inclusive experience for players.
• Oversee post-launch content, updates, and live service support for ongoing player engagement.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Game Design/Development, Project Management, or a related field.
• 10+ years of experience in the game industry, with at least 5+ years in a creative leadership role.
• Proven ability to lead and inspire creative teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Strong background in game design with a record of delivering successful AAA games, particularly in the strategy genre.
• Excellent communication skills to articulate creative ideas to diverse team members and stakeholders.
• Strong artistic and narrative sensibilities to translate concepts into engaging gameplay experiences.
• Ability to think creatively and critically, with strong problem-solving skills.
• Deep understanding of game design principles, player psychology, and current trends in the strategy genre.
• Passion for strategy games and commitment to creating inclusive experiences.
