About the position

The Advertising Video Coordinator at Valdosta State University is a key member of the University Marketing and Communications (UMC) team, responsible for producing engaging video content to support the university's marketing initiatives aimed at recruitment and retention. This role requires collaboration with various stakeholders to ensure that all video content aligns with the university's branding and messaging objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Train and supervise personnel, including assigning tasks and evaluating performance.
  • Complete administrative functions such as maintaining files, records, and managing budgeted funds.
  • Design and develop a variety of multimedia materials including print, video, and websites to communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Consult with internal clients to develop strategies, goals, and timelines for video projects.
  • Perform graphic design functions to create communication materials across assigned media.
  • Maintain and manage software and hardware used in multimedia production, including researching technology upgrades.
  • Collaborate with UMC colleagues on national advertising campaigns, including promotional videos and radio spots.
  • Assist in creating content for flagship social media accounts as needed.
  • Provide video coverage of campus events and academic activities for advertising purposes.
  • Maintain the university's webcasting and on-demand video archive site, as well as YouTube and Vimeo channels.
  • Play a significant role in video coverage for commencement events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Five years of related work experience in video production and editing.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in photography and graphic design.
  • Experience creating videos for social media.
  • Willingness to be trained on flying a drone.
