About the position

As a Creative Visual Designer for TikTok Shop, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the user experience through innovative visual and UX design. TikTok is a leading platform for short-form mobile video, and our mission is to inspire creativity and bring joy to our users. The TikTok Shop Creative Team is dedicated to producing high-quality visual designs that improve user engagement and satisfaction. This team consists of world-class visual designers, 3D experts, motion designers, and UX designers who are passionate about the TikTok platform and are constantly generating ideas to propel the product forward. In this role, you will be responsible for concept development, where you will collaborate with operation and marketing strategists to understand e-commerce needs and goals. You will harness best-in-class production practices and stay updated on design trends to push the boundaries of TikTok Shop's creative output. Your responsibilities will include visualizing core concepts, developing key visuals and related assets using tools such as Figma, After Effects, Photoshop, and Illustrator, and maintaining the TikTok Shop Visual Identity guidelines. You will also conduct usability testing, gather feedback, and understand product specifications and user psychology to define effective interaction models. Your ability to develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs will be crucial in finding creative solutions to UX challenges. Collaboration with UI designers to implement attractive designs and effectively communicating your design ideas to developers will be key components of your role. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can deliver polished products under tight deadlines while managing multiple projects effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Concept development: Strong conceptual thinker with an understanding of e-commerce operation needs and goals.
  • Art direction: Stay up to date on graphics and design trends to enhance TikTok Shop's creative product.
  • Campaign Key visual execution: Visualize core concepts and develop key visuals and related assets using design tools.
  • Maintain design assets system: Contribute to and maintain TikTok Shop Visual Identity guidelines.
  • Conduct concept and usability testing and gather feedback.
  • Understand product specifications and user psychology.
  • Define the right interaction model and evaluate its success.
  • Develop wireframes and prototypes around customer needs.
  • Work with UI designers to implement attractive designs.
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes to developers.

Requirements

  • B2C visual and interaction design experience in tech companies; e-commerce campaign design experience is a plus.
  • Bachelor's degree in design or a related field.
  • 3-6 years of experience in visual design or art direction and UX design.
  • 3D and motion design skills are a bonus.
  • A portfolio showcasing best-in-class creativity that connects brands with audiences digitally and beyond.
  • An understanding of TikTok Shop and current trends on the platform.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to deliver polished products under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working on a tight production schedule and translating ideas into action.
  • Knowledge of digital culture and the audiences that populate them.
  • Ability to understand business metrics and translate company goals into digital experiences.
  • Good communication skills to articulate design concepts clearly.
  • Good time management skills and creative situational awareness; experience in project management.
