About the position

The Credit Admin Analyst at Open Bank plays a crucial role in supporting the day-to-day administration of credit and special assets functions. This position involves assisting the Credit Administrator and the Chief Credit Officer in various tasks, including preparing reports, analyzing financial documents, and interacting with borrowers to evaluate credit risks and repayment plans. The role emphasizes teamwork, communication, and adherence to banking policies, contributing to the overall success of the credit administration department.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing Monthly/Quarterly Credit Admin Reports.
  • Research and collect data for various loan-related reports and projects.
  • Analyze financial documents, credit reports, and borrower's information to evaluate credit risks associated with non-performing loans.
  • Order appraisal reports and document qualifications of appraisers and environmental assessors.
  • Participate in discussions with borrowers regarding financial status and repayment plans.
  • Conduct site visits to new and existing borrowers.
  • Underwrite commercial loan products and memos according to bank policies.
  • Interact with lending units to discuss borrowers' financial status and develop resolution strategies.
  • Collaborate with legal teams and collection agencies for loan recovery efforts.
  • Maintain accurate records related to troubled loans and assist in preparing special assets reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field or equivalent work experience required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in commercial/business banking underwriting, lending, credit administration, or special assets area preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or client complaints.
  • Accurate typing/keyboarding skills and basic computer skills including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Good analytical skills with the ability to define problems, collect data, and draw conclusions.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with core banking process systems and online banking programs.
  • Familiarity with loan policy and procedures.
