About the position

The Credit Analyst I/II position at Williams Companies involves managing daily operations within the credit department, including counterparty setups, credit limit assessments, contract reviews, and customer inquiries. The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong understanding of finance and accounting principles, contributing to the company's clean energy initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates review of credit terms within counterparty agreements and provides recommendations
  • Issues letters of credit and guarantees according to company guidelines
  • Develops positive relationships with internal/external counterparties
  • Makes decisions regarding credit limits and resolves sophisticated credit problems within company guidelines
  • May mentor others
  • Produces reports on credit activities/operations on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Performs Counterparty exposure management using an enterprise-wide Credit System
  • Works with external customers to negotiate credit terms of commercial contracts and to negotiate, implement, and manage credit support instruments
  • Performs financial modeling to support establishment of Credit Limits
  • Represents Williams at conferences

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or accounting
  • Minimum of three (3) years working in an accounting/finance environment
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills
  • Detailed understanding of finance and accounting principles, financial documents, and ratio analysis

Nice-to-haves

  • A minimum of five (5) years oil and gas experience in an accounting/finance area
