About the position

The Credit Analyst I position at First Interstate Bank involves collaborating with Relationship Managers to gather and evaluate commercial credit-related information for current and prospective customers. The role includes preparing detailed written reports that analyze financial statements, cash flow projections, and industry risks, ultimately assisting in credit decisions and compliance with regulations.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Relationship Managers to gather and evaluate commercial credit information.
• Prepare written reports of analysis including financial statements, cash flow projections, and risk assessments.
• Analyze credit worthiness of commercial applicants and guarantors by reviewing loan applications and financial statements.
• Conduct comprehensive analysis and author reports using data analysis and written narratives.
• Evaluate credit quality and suggest proper risk ratings based on financial information.
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and keep updated with changes in federal regulations and bank policies.
• Assist in the preparation of reports for quarterly monitoring of commercial relationships.
• Complete financial performance metric covenant testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related field required or 4-6 years of banking experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Experience with financial spread software, preferably Moody's Risk Analyst or Moody's Lending Cloud.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
