About the position

Altabank, a division of Glacier Bank, is seeking a Credit Analyst II for its Lehi branch. This role is pivotal in the commercial loan underwriting process, where the analyst will be responsible for analyzing both business and personal tax returns, as well as financial statements. The Credit Analyst II will identify trends and concerns in the financial data and will work closely with assigned loan officers and customers to understand and mitigate any credit issues that may arise. The position requires the preparation of financial reports using specialized spreading software, and the analyst will provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding the financial and credit status of applicants. This includes suggesting appropriate loan structures and supporting the overall lending process. In addition to underwriting, the Credit Analyst II will prepare spreadsheets and detailed written reports for presentation in loan committee meetings, which are essential for the approval of both new and renewal loans. The analyst will also be responsible for tracking loan covenants to ensure compliance and will complete other duties as assigned. Responsibilities

  • Commercial loan underwriting, including analysis of business and personal tax returns and financial statements.

  • Provide informed professional opinions to bank officers regarding applicants' financial and credit status.

  • Track loan covenants to ensure compliance and complete other assigned duties.
  • Collaborate with assigned loan officers in a team environment.

Requirements

  • Three to five years of similar or related experience, including experience with credit systems and preparing loans.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Accounting and tax background is a plus.
