About the position

The Credit Analyst III at Five Star Bank is responsible for conducting complex commercial credit analyses to support the Bank's Commercial Lending staff. This role involves evaluating the creditworthiness of borrowers, preparing detailed credit reports, and mentoring junior analysts. The position requires a strong understanding of financial modeling and credit assessment, along with the ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure informed lending decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough credit assessments of individuals and businesses using financial statements, credit reports, and market analysis.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit analysis reports summarizing findings and providing actionable insights.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of potential borrowers and recommend terms and conditions for credit approvals.
  • Monitor existing loan portfolios, identifying trends and potential risks, and report findings to management.
  • Collaborate with relationship managers and other stakeholders to ensure informed decision-making in the lending process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and economic factors that may impact credit risk.
  • Develop and maintain credit risk models and scoring systems to enhance credit assessment processes.
  • Mentor and train junior analysts, providing guidance on best practices and methodologies in credit analysis.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 4 years of experience in commercial credit analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide insightful recommendations.
  • Proficient in financial modeling and analysis tools, as well as credit assessment software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings to various stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
