About the position

The Credit Analyst is responsible for conducting credit investigations and analyzing credit information related to loans. This role supports the mortgage underwriting process by verifying and updating credit information as requested by clients, while also providing operational support to the production team during the credit report supplement process. The position involves customer problem resolution, handling inbound calls, and performing data entry tasks.

Responsibilities

• Conduct credit investigations and analyze credit information pertaining to loans.
• Verify and update credit information as requested by clients.
• Provide operational support to the production team during the credit report supplement process.
• Resolve customer problems via telephone.
• Handle inbound consumer and client calls.
• Perform word processing, including general correspondence and data entry.
• Interface with customers regarding inquiries and complaints.
• Research documentation on the internet to assist with verification requests.
• Analyze credit files to determine the cause of missing data or changes to credit data.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience in credit analysis or loan processing.
• Customer service experience, preferably in a call center environment.
• Basic typing skills (25 wpm).
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Nice-to-haves

• Mortgage experience preferred.
• PC literate with basic office skills.
• Background in credit reporting, loan servicing, or mortgage banking.
