The Credit Analyst position is a pivotal role within the banking sector, focusing on the analysis and assessment of credit lines. This role transcends mere number crunching; it involves building relationships with Loan Officers and management to effectively address and service clients' needs. As a Credit Analyst, you will have the opportunity to embark on a career path in banking, with the flexibility to navigate towards lending or more intricate credit responsibilities. The position is designed for individuals who are eager to develop their skills in credit analysis and contribute to the financial health of the institution. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and risk-rating credit lines that require review by the Loan Committee. Your analysis must align with the findings of relevant regulatory agencies, ensuring compliance and accuracy in credit classifications. You will assist the Credit Analyst Manager and/or Senior Credit Review Officer in training new staff and coordinating various departmental activities, including month-end reporting of classified loans and monitoring loan limits. Additionally, you will review loan files as advances are made, ensuring they meet the bank's Loan Policy and Guidelines regarding structure, documentation, and credit quality standards. You will also present loan files or credit lines that do not meet the bank's standards to the Credit Analyst Manager, providing detailed explanations of any credit exceptions and recommending necessary corrective actions. In cases of minor documentation discrepancies or potential credit weaknesses, you will communicate directly with Loan Officers to request corrections and suggest alternatives for improving credit lines. Participation in Loan Committee meetings is essential, as you will present credit lines for final approval and classification. Furthermore, you may be required to perform services and projects for affiliate banks, including compiling Board reports and reviewing loan files. Adherence to compliance procedures and participation in required training is also a critical aspect of this role.
