About the position

The Credit Analyst at Lincoln Federal Savings Bank is responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of individuals and businesses applying for loans or lines of credit. This role involves analyzing financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant financial information to assess risk and recommend appropriate loan structures. The analyst will collaborate with various bank personnel to facilitate the loan approval process and ensure compliance with lending policies and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of loan applicants by analyzing financial statements, credit reports, tax returns, and cash flow projections.
  • Assess the level of risk associated with loan applications considering factors such as credit history, income stability, and economic conditions.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit reports and underwriting memorandums outlining the analysis of borrower's financial condition and repayment ability.
  • Recommend appropriate loan structures, terms, and conditions based on risk assessment and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with bank lending policies and underwriting standards.
  • Collaborate with loan officers and other bank personnel to gather necessary information and facilitate the loan approval process.
  • Monitor the performance of existing loan portfolios and conduct periodic reviews of borrowers' financial conditions.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of loan documentation in coordination with legal and documentation teams.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in credit analysis and risk management.
  • Act as backup for various commercial servicing duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or associate degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field.
  • Previous experience in credit analysis, commercial lending, or financial analysis, preferably in a banking or financial institution.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret financial data and assess risk factors.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and cash flow analysis.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to review and analyze complex financial documents accurately.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
