About the position

As a Credit Analyst at Richardson Electronics, you will play a crucial role in administering and enforcing the company's credit policy. Your primary responsibility will be to evaluate the creditworthiness and financial stability of both new and existing customers. This involves determining appropriate credit limits and terms, as well as managing delinquent accounts. You will be the point of contact for customer inquiries and will assist in account reconciliation, ensuring that all financial transactions are accurately recorded and maintained. In this position, you will evaluate potential new accounts by reviewing credit reports, references, and prior history, conducting additional investigations as necessary. You will maintain detailed records of customer interactions and updates in the ERP system, ensuring that all information is current and accessible. Your role will also include performing account maintenance tasks, such as adjusting freight and tax charges, applying credits for returned goods, and resolving short payments. You will handle credit card transactions for various payment methods, including Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Additionally, you will manage orders that enter the credit queue for various hold reasons, releasing them once they have been thoroughly investigated and approved. Daily collection calls on past due accounts will be part of your routine, and you will collaborate with sales associates and management to resolve any issues that may prevent order releases. You will also be responsible for cash posting for international accounts and processing invoices on customer portals when applicable. In the absence of your partner credit analyst, you will provide backup support to ensure continuity in operations.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate all potential new accounts for credit stability by reviewing credit reports, credit references, and prior history.
  • Record notes and updates customer contacts in the ERP system.
  • Perform account maintenance, including adjustments for freight and tax, application of credit for returned goods, and resolution of short payments.
  • Handle credit card order transactions for Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover.
  • Manage orders in the credit queue, releasing them once investigated and approved.
  • Make daily collection calls on all past due accounts.
  • Collaborate with sales associates and management to resolve issues preventing order release.
  • Post cash for numerous international accounts.
  • Process invoicing on customer portals as applicable.
  • Provide backup support to partner credit analyst in their absence.

Requirements

  • Experience with an ERP system or other credit-related software.
  • Familiarity with customer portal billing and common office equipment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in credit and collections.
