About the position

The Credit Analyst at Veterinary Service Inc. is responsible for managing delinquent customer accounts, ensuring timely collection of payments, and maintaining accurate financial records. This role involves daily organization of workload, customer communication, and collaboration with the accounting department to support overall financial health and customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Research and perform collection procedures on delinquent customer accounts.
  • Prioritize and organize daily workload to ensure timely processing of credit applications and correspondence.
  • Verify accounts by reconciling statements and customer transactions.
  • Collect revenue by notifying customers of insufficient payments and delinquent accounts.
  • Post credit card payments and process invoices and credit reports accurately.
  • Contact customers to remind them of past-due accounts and maintain follow-up logs.
  • Assist with incoming Accounting Department calls and manage departmental work overflow.
  • Balance daily bank deposits and prepare deposit slips.
  • Interact professionally with sales representatives and customers regarding invoices.
  • Keep the department supervisor informed of collection-related issues.
  • Update AR and Credit manager on difficult customer issues.
  • Develop A/R reports for management as requested.
  • Assist in special projects assigned by management.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with co-workers and customers.

Requirements

  • Mid-level experience in credit analysis or accounts receivable management.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage daily workload effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills for customer interaction via email, phone, or fax.
  • Ability to reconcile accounts and verify transactions accurately.
  • Proficiency in data entry and maintaining financial records.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the veterinary or healthcare industry.
  • Familiarity with accounting software and financial reporting.
