About the position

The Credit and Collections Analyst at W.C. Bradley Company is responsible for enforcing credit guidelines, performing collection activities, and reconciling past due accounts. This role involves working closely with customers to resolve account disputes and facilitate collections to meet company goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit and collections, with the ability to communicate effectively and maintain professional relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the cash application process and reconcile accounts receivable and bad debt accounts.
  • Evaluate customer credit worthiness and propose credit limits; review and process Letters of Credit.
  • Utilize appropriate collection methods to motivate delinquent customers to pay past due balances and enforce credit policy.
  • Ensure timely resolution of customer disputes and maintain documentation of credit and collection activities.
  • Research and address invoice deductions and compliance fines from customers; collect on refuted deductions and fines.
  • Monitor customer accounts for shipment releases based on account status and company credit policy.
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with assigned accounts, including order releases and processing credit applications.
  • Maintain communication with internal departments such as Sales, Logistics, and Finance.
  • Provide regular reports to management and prepare ad hoc reports as requested.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Five years of progressive credit, cash application, and/or collections experience.
  • Strong knowledge of cash application, collections, and credit standards of practice.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial management software (e.g., SAP or Great Plains).
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective professional relationships.
  • Customer service skills with a focus on maintaining rapport with customers.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ERP systems and financial management software.
  • Knowledge of business math and analytical reporting.
