About the position

The Credit Bureau Dispute and Reporting Analyst at Security Service Federal Credit Union (SSFCU) is responsible for managing credit bureau disputes submitted through various channels, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations such as the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). This role involves researching disputes, maintaining accurate records, and providing written responses to consumers, all while adhering to regulatory deadlines and internal policies.

Responsibilities

  • Handle credit bureau disputes submitted through direct and indirect channels, including e-Oscar.
  • Respond to disputes from ChexSystems while ensuring compliance with FCRA and CDIA regulations.
  • Research and respond to credit disputes following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory deadlines for dispute resolution.
  • Perform necessary account maintenance or corrections to Credit Reporting Agencies based on dispute outcomes.
  • Provide accurate written responses to consumers based on dispute outcomes.
  • Become a subject matter expert on internal reporting and credit bureau disputes.
  • Maintain credit reporting logs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Complete other job-related duties to support the organization's vision and values.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of Credit Bureau or related consumer financial experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge of FCRA, Metro 2 guidelines, TCPA, CFPB, NCUA, and FDCPA.
  • Experience with the e-Oscar platform.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize tasks to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze and record detailed information accurately.
  • Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
