About the position

The Credit & Collections Associate at Midwest Veterinary Supply is responsible for managing customer accounts, releasing orders from credit holds, and contacting delinquent customers for payment collection. This role aims to maintain positive customer relationships while ensuring timely payments and effective communication with sales personnel regarding account statuses.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the aging of assigned individual account balances and contact customers to collect outstanding past due balances.
• Communicate with inside and outside sales personnel on the status of troublesome accounts.
• Review customer orders on credit hold and release held orders for shipment based on the customer's credit status.
• Communicate with sales personnel to resolve credit issues for orders that cannot be released for shipment.
• Take inbound customer calls and reconcile account balance questions from customers.
• Process credit card or ACH transactions over the phone accurately.
• Assist in establishing credit limits and payment terms for new accounts and review existing accounts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Minimum of two years of collections or customer service experience preferred.
• Experience working in collections at a sales-driven organization desired.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules and procedural manuals.
• Working knowledge of general accounts receivable principles.
• Excellent listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Ability to work accurately with highly detailed information.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a veterinary or medical field is a plus.
