About the position

The Credit Risk Analyst plays a crucial role in the Credit Risk Underwriting and Account Management function, focusing on facilitating profitable growth by analyzing client portfolios and recommending necessary changes to credit parameters. This position involves creating underwriting standards, analyzing past account performance, and developing strategies to enhance sales and profitability while ensuring compliance with contractual guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Create and evaluate new account application underwriting standards for client portfolios with guidance from the Credit Risk Manager.
  • Analyze performance of past accounts and recommend changes to underwriting and credit limit assignment parameters.
  • Create, test, and analyze new credit limit strategies for specific clients to increase sales and profitability for existing accountholders.
  • Create and analyze reporting of key credit risk metrics to understand changes in portfolio risk mix and customer behavior.
  • Act as the primary risk contact for the Client Sales team and resolve ad-hoc requests from internal partners.
  • Participate in the Strategic Account Management process with Client Sales and create strategies for new client implementations.
  • Participate in strategic projects to identify enhancements that lead to more account approvals and higher sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Economics, Statistics, Finance, Business, Accounting, or completion of a Bread Financial apprentice program.
  • At least one year in credit management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience coding using SAS, SQL, Dataiku, Angoss, or other dashboard experience.
