As a Credit Manager / Accounts Receivable, the individual must have good people and organizational skills, the ability to develop and maintain good customer relations, and the capability to digest options and determine the one(s) best suited for a situation. This person must have a broad knowledge of credit activities, objectives, and policies within organizations. One must be able to analyze credit issues, determine the cause, and help rectify the situation. A self-confident, enthusiastic, persuasive, pro-active, high-energy, practical and creative individual with a sense of urgency, drive, integrity, and initiative is essential. A strong and effective communicator, both orally and in writing, who can interface cooperatively with the various departments of the company, as well as customers, reps, and distributors is required. A person who listens well and desires to work towards the company goals and objectives will thrive in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with CEO in establishing credit limits for all accounts and check adherence to limits and payment within credit terms.
  • Maintain all accounts and post all payments and credits.
  • Work to recover money that is due to the company and advise management/owner on economic trends affecting credit.
  • Adhere to credit policies that achieve maximum results for the company and work closely with the Sales Department and customers to ensure all issues are resolved.
  • Research and review all credit applications and establish all new accounts/sub-accounts.
  • Investigate credit references and credit reports for all accounts, distribute credit reports to other suppliers.
  • Assist in preparing, processing, and mailing monthly accounts receivable statements.
  • Maintain professional contacts with other companies, organizations, and associations and attend weekly credit meetings.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in management of Credit Department.
  • Math skills to include calculating and statistical analysis.
  • Above average reading, writing, and communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Some college education with emphasis in Accounting is desired.
  • Must be able to sit for up to 4 hours at a time.
  • Must be able to pass company-required drug screens as part of a Drug-Free Workplace.
