About the position

The Tableau Developer 2 (Credit Risk) is an individual contributor role responsible for delivering production responsibilities and executing projects for the Bank's portfolio reporting and analytics function. This position is crucial in driving insightful reporting through Tableau dashboards. The role involves creating and managing Tableau content, validating dashboard content using SQL queries, and interfacing with business customers in both development and support capacities. Responsibilities also include documentation, training business users, and the creation and maintenance of Tableau write-back extensions and Tableau extracts. The Tableau Developer 2 will have recurring production responsibilities as well as project or ad hoc duties, both of which require a high attention to detail. Success in this position hinges on the ability to demonstrate independent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, decision-making capabilities, prioritization, a sense of urgency, quick turnaround, adaptability, customer service skills, and on-time implementation. The role requires a detailed understanding of banking concepts and an aptitude for integrating efficiencies with technology and applications used to deliver information and reporting to customers within the bank. The developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining critical portfolio management information and providing reports and operating performance metrics. The position demands high-level technical expertise and software knowledge to address complex business and financial projects. The developer must be proficient in the Microsoft suite of technologies, including Visual Studio and Management Studio, and have expert knowledge of the Tableau development lifecycle, including data preparation, data visualization, and dashboard execution. Experience with creating Tableau extensions is preferred. The developer will manage a pipeline of reporting and process-related projects, identifying and elevating roadblocks while executing within designated time frames. They will serve as the point of contact for internal customers for ad hoc extracts and support for assigned areas of responsibility, utilizing various DataMarts to assess business line performance, trends, KPIs, and leading indicators to measure opportunities and risks effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage Tableau content for portfolio reporting and analytics.
  • Validate dashboard content using SQL queries.
  • Interface with business customers for development and support.
  • Document processes and train business users on Tableau usage.
  • Create and maintain Tableau write-back extensions and extracts.
  • Manage a pipeline of reporting and process-related projects.
  • Identify and elevate roadblocks in project execution.
  • Utilize DataMarts to assess business line performance and trends.
  • Communicate project statuses to manager, team, and customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Statistics, MIS, or comparable.
  • 3-5+ years of experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
  • 3-5+ years of technical experience with Tableau or other enterprise reporting tools.
  • Experience with ETL (SSIS), SQL, or other database-related skills preferred.
  • Expert level skills with Microsoft Office Suite, SQL, and Pivot Tables.
  • Completion of or advancement towards Tableau certification(s) preferred.
