About the position

The Credit Representative is responsible for managing a designated portfolio of accounts, focusing on collecting outstanding receivables while maintaining positive customer relations. This role involves problem-solving to resolve account delinquencies and managing risk, all while ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction through professional and solution-oriented collection approaches.

Responsibilities

• Manage and collect on a portfolio of outstanding receivables, minimizing losses and adhering to company policies and procedures
• Proactively contact customers to address past due balances and keep them informed
• Negotiate account resolution while providing excellent customer service
• Maintain accurate documentation of all collection activity and communication
• Resolve disputes, unapplied payments, and account holds using sound judgement
• Escalate uncollectible accounts to credit manager
• Build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external customers
• Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalency
• Undergraduate degree in Business, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Statistics, or a related field is preferred (5+ years working experience within a high level, credit-related role may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• 3+ years of Commercial collections experience
• 2+ years Accounts Receivable experience
• Exposure to tax resale certificates
• Ability to work independently and maintain accuracy
• Strong organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient computer skills (MS Office applications, including Teams and basic Excel)
• Ability to problem solve
• Strong work ethic and sense of urgency
