About the position

The Credit Research Analyst at Income Research + Management (IR+M) is a senior-level role focused on analyzing fixed income investments, particularly in investment-grade corporate sectors. The analyst will report to the Director of Credit Research and collaborate with other research analysts to provide comprehensive issuer and sector research, build financial models, and present research findings. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a growing credit research team within a hybrid work environment that emphasizes collaboration and employee engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis of quantitative and qualitative factors impacting fixed income investments.
  • Publish and maintain comprehensive issuer and sector research on IR+M's Research Management System.
  • Build financial models to stress cash flows, credit metrics, ratings, and coverage.
  • Conduct fundamental credit and ESG quality ranking assessments for assigned sectors.
  • Present research opinions and advocate for relative value ideas.
  • Maintain coverage of assigned sectors and communicate changes in views.
  • Attend industry conferences and engage with issuers.
  • Monitor and communicate market developments and credit strategy.
  • Contribute to Investment Team collaboration including huddles and discussions.
  • Partner with individuals across the firm to support client service needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant industry experience with at least 3 years of prior credit research experience.
  • Knowledge of the fixed income markets and relative value analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and fluency in Excel.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and financial statement analysis.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and self-starter attitude.
  • Critical thinker and proactive problem solver.
  • Strong organization skills.

Nice-to-haves
