About the position

The Credit Research Analyst at abrdn is responsible for conducting comprehensive research on corporate issuers across the quality spectrum, including Investment Grade and High Yield securities. This role involves generating investment ideas, making fundamental recommendations, and collaborating with a global team to enhance corporate fixed income investment strategies. The analyst will prepare detailed reports, build financial models, and represent the research team in client meetings, all while monitoring market conditions and industry trends.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed fundamental research on fixed income securities and issuers.
  • Prepare reports analyzing securities, issuers, industry, competitive landscape, and valuation.
  • Build and maintain financial models with historical and forward-looking projections.
  • Utilize analytical tools including Excel, Charles River, and Bloomberg.
  • Formulate opinions and investment recommendations based on independent judgment.
  • Collaborate with team members, including Equity colleagues and sell-side analysts.
  • Coordinate and participate in portfolio reviews with Portfolio Managers.
  • Assist in implementing investment decisions and represent the research team in client meetings.
  • Monitor market conditions, investor sentiment, and industry trends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of investment industry experience as a Credit Analyst.
  • Strong technology skills, particularly in Excel and Bloomberg.
  • CFA or MBA preferred.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
