About the position

The Credit Review Audit Team Lead is responsible for conducting objective evaluations of the Bank's performance monitoring, internal controls, risk identification, and collections practices. This role involves gathering, reviewing, testing, and analyzing documentation for credit review audits, ensuring compliance with the Bank's risk profile and policies. The position also focuses on risk assessment, portfolio management, and the preparation of reports for management, ensuring comprehensive coverage of credit audit engagements from start to finish.

Responsibilities

  • Provide objective evaluations of the Bank's performance monitoring and internal controls.
  • Conduct risk assessments and monitor credit risk metrics (KRIs and KPIs).
  • Assist in the creation and preparation of reports for management.
  • Review, trace, test, and summarize results against samples for proper evidence.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of credit audit engagements, including scoping and testing.
  • Identify early signs of stress and potential credit weaknesses.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Communicate review progress and emerging risk factors to management.
  • Evaluate the accuracy and effectiveness of the risk rating scorecard.
  • Manage personal pipeline and plan credit audit approaches under supervision.
  • Determine required audits for relevant segments and special projects.
  • Prepare meeting materials and present findings to department manager and auditors.
  • Ensure document and data integrity throughout the audit process.
  • Summarize results and findings, and appraise corrective actions taken.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred.
  • 6-8 years of Credit Review related experience required.
  • 5-6 years of Bank Auditing preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of commercial/consumer credit and regulatory exam reports.
  • Ability to apply advanced financial analysis techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of Crowe Credit360, BancAudit/Nautilus/CBS/Data Analysis Tool/Audit Management Software.
  • Self-learn and maintain knowledge of Northwest's Risk Appetite Policy and SOX internal control narratives.
