About the position

As a Credit Risk Analyst at Fiserv, you will play a crucial role in assessing and mitigating credit risk exposure for incoming merchant applications. Your primary responsibility will be to review and investigate these applications, ensuring that all potential fraud and credit risks are thoroughly evaluated. You will coordinate risk mitigation efforts with various departments, including Funding, Legal, Operations, and Client Services, to ensure a comprehensive approach to risk management. This position requires you to track and monitor applications throughout the underwriting process, providing support to clients in addressing any credit concerns they may have. In this role, you will negotiate collateral requirements and restructuring terms as necessary, ensuring that all agreements are beneficial for both the company and the merchants. You will also be responsible for resolving merchant inquiries through scheduled calls, providing timely and effective communication to address their needs. Additionally, you will be tasked with completing special projects as assigned, which may involve reading and interpreting complex documents and calculating various financial figures such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Your ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment will be essential in making informed decisions that impact the company's risk exposure. You will interact positively and effectively with personnel at all levels, as well as with partners and vendors, fostering strong relationships that support the overall goals of the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED required.
  • 2 years prior customer service experience required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate or bachelor's degree preferably in finance or criminal justice.
  • 1 year prior credit risk experience.
