As a Credit Risk Review Advisor within PNC's Credit Risk Review organization, this position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Preferred locations are listed in this requisition. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities may be performed remotely, at manager's discretion. Additional locations may be considered. The primary objective of Credit Risk Review (CRR) is to conduct timely and independent assessments of PNC's credit exposures and credit risk. Results from CRR's assessments are provided to senior management and PNC's Risk Committee of the Board of Directors. As CRR Advisor you will join a highly skilled team providing independent assessments of PNC's Commercial credit exposures. Your deep understanding of sound Commercial lending and credit risk practices will enable you to provide valuable insights and recommendations to drive effective credit risk management practices. Preferred experience is at least 8 years of Credit Risk/Credit Underwriting. This role involves analyzing file review activities associated with applicable business segments, executing file review assessments on moderately complex credit and credit-related transactions, and understanding inherent risk and the materiality of risk. You may act as a reviewer in charge and serve as a resource to junior staff. A robust understanding of the credit cycle and economic indicators' impact on key driving metrics is essential. You will demonstrate robust knowledge of where and how to leverage industry/economic research tools into the review. You will analyze moderately complex credit facility structures and underwriting processes within the context of credit policies, validate scorecard risk ratings, and ensure understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes to manage credit portfolios effectively. Your role will also involve analyzing output to support decision-making, identifying risk concentrations, systemic trends, or issues, and completing work papers, issue tracking, and following up on exam findings. You will participate in continuous monitoring for assigned portfolios and prepare materials and supporting documentation for meetings with Line of Business representatives with minimal supervision. Effectively communicating Credit Risk Reviews plans and objectives for reviews is also a key responsibility.

  • Validates scorecard risk ratings, testing and maintenance activities.
  • Ensures understanding of portfolio issues, trends, and root causes in order to manage credit portfolios effectively.
  • Analyzes output to support decisioning.
  • Analyzes risk in assigned credit portfolios by reviewing relevant reporting and assessing trends.
  • Provides strong analytical insight and identifies risk concentrations, systemic trends or issues.
  • Completes work papers, issue tracking and follows up on exam findings.
  • Participates in continuous monitoring for assigned portfolios.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in Credit Risk/Credit Underwriting.
  • University/college degree or a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service).
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of credit risk management practices.
  • Knowledge of the credit cycle and economic indicators' impact on key driving metrics.
