About the position

The Credit Strategy Analyst will focus on developing and optimizing credit risk strategies to support the profitable growth of small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) loans. This role involves utilizing advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to ensure that loan originations meet risk performance targets. The analyst will work closely with various stakeholders to implement strategies, monitor performance, and communicate insights effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize risk credit strategies including risk rating, loan amount and loan term restrictions, and policy decline and review rules.
  • Execute all key steps of strategy development, including problem identification, data preparation, data analysis, strategy proposal, and impact analysis.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in product, engineering, decision sciences, credit operations, and partnerships for strategy implementation and application process optimization.
  • Design and generate regular strategy monitoring reports.
  • Conduct comprehensive analysis to identify emerging performance trends and provide recommendations.
  • Monitor macroeconomic indicators and develop stress scenarios for credit strategy testing.
  • Explore new data sources, including banking transactions and financial data, to assess creditworthiness of SME applications.
  • Create comprehensive presentations to communicate strategic insights and recommendations to business partners and leadership.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical background with a data-driven decision-making mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills to explain complex problems and ideas to wider audiences.
  • 2+ years of credit risk strategy experience in the unsecured lending industry preferred.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative-driven field preferred.
  • Working experience and proficiency in Python, R, SQL, Tableau or other BI tools, and advanced Excel.
